Emma's paintings and artworks explore femininity, nature and emotion. Her work is inspired by the colours and forms of the natural world and landscape. She makes paintings in oils, gouache and watercolour that are both wall based, and performative. Her work over the years has foregrounded painting in relation to feminine performativity, embodiment and spaces. Emma studied Painting and Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, & Camberwell College of the Arts, and the Royal College of Art. Emma’s work is included in many public and private collections internationally. Exhibitions and Commissions include: The Institute of Contemporary Art, London; The Victoria & Albert Museum; Tate Gallery, London; Vienna Succession Gallery; PS1, New York, Royal Institute of British Architects; The Henry Moore Foundation; English Heritage; Northern Arts; Tate Gallery, Liverpool; Manifesta 3; Venice Biennale; Arts Council of England. Emma lives and works in the Surrey & Sussex, Weald and Downs as well as the Welsh Mountains.
